DOCUMENTARY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
At the Rialto Cinemas from 27th February till 14th March
Documentary Edge Festival is Australasia’s only international competitive documentary film festival. It is held in Auckland and Wellington and showcases the very best in documentary film from New Zealand and around the World.
The 5th edition of Documentary Edge Festival will be held in Auckland from 27 February to 14 March 2010 at Rialto Cinemas Newmarket and in Wellington from 13th to 28th March at Angelika at Reading Cinemas Courtenay and City Gallery Wellington.
There are 8 categories in the programme: International Competition; NZ Competition; Best of Fest; World Cinema; Heroes and Icons; Culture Vulture; Spotlight: China; and Spotlight: Eco-Warriors.
This year has seen an increase in filmmakers deciding to hold their world or international premieres at the Documentary Edge Festival. This is exciting and a testimony to the increasing stature of both the festival and New Zealand.
16 days, 56 films, 25 countries, the festival includes Awards Night, Q&A Sessions with filmmakers and special events.
