New News Item

By Adam Wheeler - Newmarket Security

Newmarket Security is happy to report that we had the best holiday season since records began over five years ago.

We are seeing a dramatic decrease in criminal activity being reported to us by the community.

For the first time ever we had no reported thefts on Boxing Day. This was, I felt, due to having two officers on foot and one roaming through the car-parks and extended precinct areas in our patrol car.

The CCTV camera network is now well known to the criminal fraternity and is serving as a great deterrent, investigative and support tool for both Newmarket Security officers and the police.

Unfortunately three fashion stores on Teed Street have been targeted by thieves in the last couple of weeks. Staff of two stores felt the people were suspicious but did not call us.

Please call us immediately if you feel people are acting suspiciously and we will attend to your store in two or three minutes. If the person has left we will rewind camera footage as well as conduct area searches immediately. Please continue to report all incidents and suspicious people as quickly as possible.

We are proud to report that within four minutes of a group of criminals arriving on Broadway in a stolen Subaru, someone reported it to us. We located the group and chased them out of town - all within 10 minutes.

Thank you to our many supporters and keep the reports coming in no matter how trivial they may seem.
