Another exciting Auckland Cup Week is only weeks away and we will again be hosting the ‘Parade of Champions’ along Broadway from 12noon on Sunday 7 March. Last year was the first time we had hosted this community event on a Sunday which drew bigger crowds and was a real family affair!

Each year the association and Auckland Racing are committed to delivering a bigger and better parade and this year’s parade will be no exception. We have increased the parade content and added more entertainers, marching bands and jazz bands. Because it is now on a Sunday we have more involvement from school children which of course brings families into the precinct for a day out.

So come celebrate with us as we salute past and present champions from the racing industry as well as our local fashion houses. Be part of the excitement, tradition and glamour that is Auckland Cup Week and support the parade along Broadway.

We are again making this a very fashionable affair. For a small fee we invite fashion stores to showcase their latest race-wear collection on one of our fashion floats.

The association will again this year subsidise the floats, and the cost for a float is $1,000 or $100 per business. Each float can accommodate 10 models. This is a very cost effective way to literally parade your brand down the length of Broadway.

Newmarket is the Official Fashion Partner for Auckland Cup Week 2010. Newmarket will again be top of mind for race-wear purchases with three fashion focused days during that week. Fashion events and dates to be aware of are:

Mercedes Prix de Fashion on Telecom Derby Day - Saturday 6 March
Stella Artois Cup Couture on Auckland Cup Day - Wednesday 10 March
Diamond Darling on SKYCITY Diamond Day –
Saturday 13 March
