Back in the days when we were knee high to a jalapeno, our family ran the hottest restaurant in town. In fact, we were voted Best Mexican Restaurant in Oregon.

Fast forward a bunch of years. Our parents retired and we finished our university degrees. Then we all embarked upon our family adventure – bringing the evolution of Mexican food to the most beautiful country on earth - New Zealand. We opened our first store on Prince's Wharf in Auckland on April 14, 2005. Next up - Nuffield Street in Newmarket - opening mid-August 2006.

Growing up in the restaurant biz our parents made sure we knew the importance of consistency, quality, cleanliness and service. And we’ve done it all. As youngsters we were the go-to guys for every no-show dish dog – and we still are! While we’ve changed up the line to match today’s fast-paced lifestyle, we’ve stayed true to the food.

Mexicali Fresh brings something different to Auckland. Sit on our deck and you are transported to Baja or San Diego. Even with a line out the door, the service at Mexicali Fresh is the fastest and friendliest around. And the food is the best you’ll find anywhere. We’ve got frosty margaritas, great tunes, surf vids on the tube, and an astonishing selection of tequila and Mexican cerveza. You’re gonna like it here. Trust us, we’ve been doing this for awhile.
