Loved by 52 people!
Owned and operated by Mother and Daughter Denise, and Victoria Williams, Double Exposure first started business under the name
‘Second Thoughts’, when it opened its first store in Oliver’s Arcade, Newmarket back in
1986.
Since then it has carefully built its reputation as New Zealand’s premiere designer
recycled clothing outlet through consistently providing it’s customers with what
they want – quality designer clothing at affordable prices.
In 1990 Double Exposure opened a new flagship store on Gillies Ave. This 10,000
ft² retail Mecca was to service the well‐heeled designer‐wearing clientele of
Auckland for the next 15 years.
In 1992, due to the success of the new store and in an effort to satisfy the demand
they had created, Double Exposure started buying clothing from Sydney’s rich
and famous. This was followed in 1996 by the magazine editors and socialites of
New York City, whose clothes were packed up and shipped to New Zealand,
where they were eagerly purchased by a waiting clientele.
