Art Collector

Art Collector is the joint vision of Anna and Karz Toyota. We bring a special combination of business and international travel experience to Art Collector.

I am originally from Hong Kong and have worked in the fashion industry - designing clothes that are sold worldwide. My husband, Karz is from Japan. He has been involved in importing and exporting goods throughout Asia and Europe. He has worked extensively with restaurants, wholesale and retail chains in Japan.

Our love of travelling, meeting people, looking for new ideas, new business and experiencing new lifestyles brought us to New Zealand in 2000. This is where we fell in love with the natural surroundings, the warmth of human relationships and the relaxed lifestyle.

We have enjoyed settling in Taupo, with it's beautiful scenery and the
friendly people. It has been a dramatic change of lifestyle from the hustle of living and working in some of the world's biggest cities, where everyone is continually rushing all of the time and where everyone is so busy that human contact is considered a luxury.

After living in Taupo for 18 months, we started to think what we could do to exchange our cultures with the people of New Zealand, as well as making some money! With a passion for interior design and antiques, we decided to open Art Collector in Taupo. A place where we blend our cultures, finding harmony between the East and the West.
